After 30+ hours of traveling, I (almost) made it! I left for JFK at 12:30pm on Wednesday to take a 6:10pm flight with Qantas (didn’t really leave the ground till 7:30- the first of many delays). Arriving at LAX at 9:30pm (i.e. 12:30am), expecting a 1.5 hour layover turned into 4 hours… Haven’t pulled an all nighter in quite some time. With a passion fruit iced tea in hand I finally boarded the flight out of LAX at 5am NY time. As I write this I am still on my 13 hour flight across the pacific ocean. I should be landing 6:30pm Thursday NY time and 8:30am Friday Brisbane time. Then through customs, money exchange, figuring out the taxi situation all while running on a total of 2 hours of sleep, coffee might be my best friend this summer!
